Lawrence Ferlinghetti (Bronxville, New York, 1919). His art being essentially anarchic, anti-state and subversive, Ferlinghetti has long shared the Fluxus spirit with artists and writers all over the world. Francesco Conz and Ferlinghetti first met in Florence in 1998 during a poets gathering organized by the publishing house City Lights Italia. Conz immediately felt that Ferlinghetti was “the missing pearl in the necklace of personalities” that his collection was seeking. Following their encounter Conz invited Ferlinghetti to Verona and proposed that an exhibition of his works be held, ensuing in a prolific collaboration that can still be found within Conz’s Archive.
