''La Musique Visible'' – Archivio Conz / Fluxus and Concrete Poetry
Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in France, Paris
12 February – 16 March 2026

On 12 February 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in France, together with the team of the Archivio Conz collection, officially opened the exhibition ''La Musique Visible'', presenting one of the most comprehensive catalogued collections of Fluxus and concrete poetry in the world. The opening evening brought together diplomats, artists, curators, cultural figures, and distinguished guests from across Europe, becoming a vivid example of cultural dialogue and international cooperation.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to France, alongside the exhibition’s curator and Director of Archivio Conz, Hubertus von Amelunxen, and Archivio Conz representative Ignas Zalieckas. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine and numerous prominent figures from the Lithuanian cultural community, including pianist Mūza Rubackytė, writer Valdas Papievis, curator Julija Palmeirao, and many others.

The exhibition presents works from the remarkable collection of collector and publisher Francesco Conz (1935–2010). He published more than 500 art editions and prints and amassed approximately 20,000 works — ranging from pianos and grand pianos to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, and art editions from around the globe. Conz regarded collecting and publishing as a distinct artistic practice, closely aligned with the ideas of Fluxus and the spirit of creative freedom.

The Fluxus movement emerged in the early 1960s in Wiesbaden around the ideas of Lithuanian-born artist and visionary George (Jurgis) Mačiūnas. The movement combined music, performance, poetry, and interdisciplinary art, promoting creativity accessible to all, independent of institutions or the market. Fluxus became an important part of Lithuania’s cultural identity and a powerful symbol of avant-garde thought and artistic independence.

The opening evening was marked by a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere, clearly demonstrating the strong cultural connection between France, Germany, Lithuania, and the broader European artistic community. The speeches emphasized that Fluxus is not merely a historical phenomenon, but a living symbol of creative freedom, courage, and international collaboration.

''La Musique Visible'' will remain on view at the Embassy in Paris until 16 March 2026 and marks the first part of a broader exhibition series. The second chapter of the series, dedicated to the theme of “word,” will open on 12 March 2026 at Galerija Vartai in Vilnius, further developing the dialogue between Fluxus art, language, and performance.
