Anne Tardos (1943, in Cannes, France) is a French-born American poet, artist, and composerknown for her multilingual and experimental approach to poetry. Her work incorporates visual elements, sound, and language experimentation, reflecting a deep engagement with avant-garde traditions. Having spent her early years in Paris, Budapest, and Vienna, Tardos developed fluency in multiple languages, a feature that later became central to her artistic expression. She relocated to New York City in 1966, where she became part of the city's vibrant avant-garde scene, expanding her practice to include performance, video, and musical composition. Tardos is the author of several poetry collections, including "The Exploding Nothingness of Never Define" (2020), "The Camel's Pedestal" (2017), and "NINE" (2015). Her writing is characterized by linguistic fluidity, blending different languages within single works, and challenging conventional poetic structures. Beyond her work, she has contributed significantly to preserving and editing the writings of her late husband, poet Jackson Mac Low, ensuring his legacy remains accessible to contemporary audiences.
