Berty Skuber (1941, Fiè allo Sciliar, Italy) is an Italian artist whose work spans drawing, photography, collage, and book art. Her practice often explores the relationship between language, memory, and visual composition, using a mix of materials and formats to challenge conventional artistic boundaries. Since the mid-1990s, she has experimented with textiles and everyday materials, incorporating elements such as clothing labels into her work to examine themes of branding, identity, and cultural narratives. Her approach blends conceptual art with material experimentation, reflecting on the hidden stories within ordinary objects. Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as the Museion in Bolzano and the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, among other venues. She has also been involved in collaborative projects, including mail art exchanges with other artists, expanding her practice beyond traditional exhibition formats.
