Biography
Rossano Guerra, (1949, Tavoleto, Italy), is an acclaimed Italian painter and printmaker recognized for his contributions to the art of engraving. His creative work spans decades and is celebrated for both its technical mastery and its ability to bridge traditional methods with contemporary expression. He studied at the Art Institute of Urbino, a school deeply rooted in Italy's rich history of printmaking. This education provided him with a strong foundation in classical techniques, which he would later reinterpret through his personal and modern artistic lens. Guerra’s work is marked by precision, texture, and a thoughtful engagement with both form and theme. His engravings and paintings reflect a balance between historic craftsmanship and contemporary sensibilities, making his art relevant across different artistic generations. He has exhibited his work widely in solo and group shows, earning recognition for his skill and his role in advancing the practice of printmaking in Italy. In 1997, he co-founded the Associazione Culturale La Luna, an organization that fosters collaboration between visual art and literature.
